Mocking Dick (3)

You kept walking until it became a bit harder to breathe. This was stupid, having to run from a man you had a crush on.
Your eyes fell down to your phone, noting the time on it.
Damnit. It was already 6 p.m. and soon would be time for the green room party. That meant having to see and talk to the one person you really didn’t want to see right now.
You felt exhausted, despite your excitement and nervousness.
–
The party had started, and thankfully you were able to avoid Rich while getting ready. Ruth, Kim, and Briana were able to distract you, but you left them unaware of the awkwardness between you and Rich.
The night started out with Rob, Rich, and Matt telling jokes.
You felt Rich’s eyes on you; the tension that his gaze held was instilling nerves into you.
This whole thing was all your fault. You shouldn’t have made such a big deal out of it, but there was no turning back now.
You were having fun dancing with the girls as you felt someone’s presence behind you.
“Listen, Ri-“ You spun around, but it wasn’t who you thought it was.
“Expecting someone else?” Rob inquired, folding his arms. He looked so much like an angry father, it was hard not to laugh.
“Me? No, definitely not…” Your sentence trailed off, letting Rob know you’re lying. He could tell whenever you weren’t telling the truth.
Rob sighed deeply and lean forward so that no one else would hear him.
“You need to talk to him,” was all he said before leaving you to most likely find his best friend across the room.
You shook away the thought of ignoring and hiding from Rich forever. You’d have to talk to him eventually, whether it be at a con or on set.
Either way, your anxiety flared over thinking about even looking at him.
