In My Dreams (10)

(Part 1) (Part 2) (Part 3) (Part 4) (Part 5)

(Part 6) (Part 7) (Part 8) (Part 9)

It all started in your dreams months ago. Looking at Gabriel now, you can’t help but think back to your old, naive life. Thinking about it was like reminiscing on a vacation you’d seen in a movie.

As you watched Gabriel’s mouth move and the apologies spilled out like a waterfall, you can’t help your focus shifting. The words hit your ear but don’t register in your mind. You notice the way his lips open and it reminds you of when he’d used to tell dumb jokes that had you laughing all day.

His eyes twitch amusedly, his eyebrow quirking up.

You narrow yours, puzzled.

“Are you listening to anything I’m saying?”

These were the first words you’d heard come out of his mouth in the last few minutes of your daydreaming.

You press your lips together, humming a low note under your breath.

“Not really,” you shrug.

The whole thing seems pointless to you. Anger, lying, betrayal, they all had nothing against pure joy. The world was so messed up and for what reason?

Gabriel had only wanted you safe, and despite his deceit, you feel a wave of nostalgia wash over you. Fighting and holding grudges were just too exhausting any more.

Gabriel’s features turn softer and less mischievous. His mouth opens again as you try focusing on the words.

“I really am sorry, Y/n,” the sentence falls from his lips with such self-hatred and resentment that it’s hard to not apologize yourself.

“I know,” you whisper, catching a glimpse of the glimmering wetness in his eyes.

Gabriel glances up from the floor to you. He was afraid, you could tell. Afraid of your anger, afraid of not being able to fix his wrongs, afraid of losing you.

“Still love me?” He grins slightly, mouth twitching upwards.

The next few moments are torturous for both of you. Gabriel not knowing your answer, despite his outward wavering confidence. And you, wondering whether to let his one mistake decide both of your lives.

You feel the deep pressure of your heart pumping throughout your body. The steady beat calms you and gives you a moment of clarity.

Your arms wrap around his shoulders, pulling Gabriel’s torso into yours. You press your forehead against his, wiping away a stray tear that falls down his cheek with your thumb.

Gabriel’s bright golden orbs gaze into yours. He’s shaking, if only a little bit, from worry.

“I’ll always love you, doofus,” you mumble, feeling the breath of Gabriel’s sharp exhale on your face.

You grin, moving your head so that your chin is leaning on his shoulder, hugging him properly.

His weight shifts as you press into him; he’s holding you steady, his hands firmly planted on your waist.

Gabriel made his mistakes, and both of you knew that. All that mattered now was now.

Your past, though altered and rearranged, did not define you. And Gabriel’s didn’t define his, either.

All That Glitters is Gold

Word Count: 1K words

A/N: Little Gabriel fluff kinda sorta maybe 😉

Sam, Dean, and Gabriel were in a lot of trouble.

The demons they had been hunting were strategic and too smart. Every part of the trap was planned down to the smallest point.

Sam and Dean were chained down, struggling but at least conscious. Gabriel, being an archangel, was surrounded in a lit ring of holy oil.

All hope seemed lost for the heroes to get out with their lives intact.

That’s when you stepped in.

You’d heard about the demons around town and planned to take your charge tonight. From constant scoping and watching, you were able to see that they were going to kidnap more people.

It was your job to save them.

You peek through the door that leads to a torture chamber of sorts.

Your plan is well thought out and involves not running in gun ablaze. But then you see who the captives are.

Sam and Dean are too preoccupied with trying to escape, and then there’s someone you don’t recognize.

He’s calmer than them. His golden brown hair and eyes catch your attention, but so does the fire around him.

Angel, you think to yourself. The Winchesters always were ones to find aid in the oddest people.

There are a few demons scattered around the room, discussing God knows what.

Sam and Dean are going to owe you for this.

You charge into the room, doing exactly what you decided not to do.

The first demon is easy, and you stab it in the mid-chest. The second is a bit more difficult; you have to dodge a few attacks, but end up taking him down.

As your work is finished, you run your hands through your hair to brush it back.

Sam and Dean watch thankfully as you approach them.

You grab the hands of both Winchesters and hoist them to their feet.

“Been a long time, boys.”

You give them both welcoming hugs.

“Sure has been,” Sam replies with a grateful smile.

Upon seeing your friends, none of you had noticed the archangel still surrounded in a glowing, blue ring of holy fire.

“Hello? In need of a little help over here,” a voice called.

All three of you glance over at the helpless man.

You nonchalantly grab a small water bottle from your pocket and pour it over the fire.

Your eyes inavertently meet the ones of the man in front of you.

“Name’s Y/N, and you are?”

Gabriel never felt himself ever speechless in his entire life besides this moment. You had easily taken down multiple demons by yourself and you somehow looked good even while fighting.

What was he thinking? He’d just met you and hadn’t even introduced himself.

“It’s Gabriel.”

Your eyes widen with a hint of hopeful happiness.

“Gabriel? Like-“

“Exactly.”

Gabriel watches as you process the information and can’t help the small grin appearing on his face.

You reach a hand out for the archangel to shake.

He does so as you say, “Well, any friend of these lugs is a friend of mine.”

Before Gabriel can say a word, Dean starts talking.

“Speakin’ of, you stayin’ in town awhile? We’ve always got a place in the bunker for you.”

You release Gabriel’s hand, at dismay of the archangel, and sigh.

“I don’t know. I just go where I’m needed.”

Somehow, for some reason, Gabriel needed her with him.

Despite your vague answer, you couldn’t just let the boys slip out of your hands again. It was a pleasure to work with them as always and the loneliness of hunting was starting to hit.

You had been staying in the bunker for around two months now. In the short time, you had rekindled your close friendship with the Winchesters and Castiel, and also found company in Gabriel.

Most times when Sam, Dean and Cas were on a big hunt, you’d stay behind to do the research on it with Gabriel. You’d gotten bored of just fighting.

One day in particular, you had done the searching for a case and gotten it accomplished. The boys were on their way back from the hunt. That meant you had nothing to do.

Gabriel is lounging on the couch, eyes occupied with a movie playing on the television.

“Do you have wings like Cas?”

The sudden question had startled him from his daydream. He, in fact, wasn’t actually paying attention the what was on the screen. He’d been daydreaming about you lately.

Gabriel felt his heart drop through his chest and land on the floor before her. The thought of her with Castiel did that to him. Angels didn’t show their wings to anyone except potential mates.

“Yeah, I do,” he muttered, grimacing.

You noticed the way his demeanor suddenly changed and wondered if you’d said something wrong.

“Oh. I’ve never seen Cas’ but I was just wondering. He used to teach me about angel lore.”

The relief that washed over his entire being was exciting.

Silence fell upon you and the archangel.

He watched in admiration the way your lips moved when you talked.

“They’re gold.”

You paused a moment, curiously watching the angel. Your eyebrows quirked up.

“What are?” You asked, eyes wide.

“My wings. Brightest gold you’d ever see.”

“Like a gold coin?”

Gabriel chuckled, “Brighter.”

You stared in complete awe, but then felt butterflies run through your stomach.

“Can I see them?”

Gabriel tore his eyes from the television screen to yours.

He cleared his throat, “Did Cas tell you what it means when an angel shows someone their wings?”

It’s not that he didn’t want to, but he wasn’t willing to risk anything if you didn’t know.

You slowly nodded, darting your eyes away from him. The question had made you unconfident and skiddish.

“I understand if you don’t want to. I simply felt something around you that drew me in.”

Gabriel’s features remained stoic and unwavering as his heart leaped in the inside. He focused all his energy on one thing, closing his eyes only to see your smile unfurl as his wings opened up.

Healing Hurts

Gif from @faramaiofnerdwoodforest (Let me know if it’s not okay to use and I will take it down!)

A/N: Guys, I can’t help it. There’s just so mamy Gabe feels going around right now. (What is wrong with me)

His wings. The shadow gave away none of the actual horrors that only you could see. They were bloodied, torn in some spots, bald in others. It was a nightmare come true.

You felt the muscles in his shoulders tense slightly as you grazed a finger over the base of the wings.

“I’m sorry,” you whispered, afraid that raising your voice any higher would scare him off.

“It wasn’t your fault,” Gabriel replied, equally as soft.

Your lips formed into a tight line.

“I could have… I should’ve known.”

You lightly brush a loose feather aside and watch as it gently floats to the sheets beside you.

“There was no way you could have. I had myself warded; to protect you,” his voice was still hoarse and rough from years of silence.

“They were after me,” he continued, “I couldn’t have them after you, too.”

Your hands make their way to a particularly damaged spot of the wings, and you dab it with a wet cloth.

“I’d have fought a thousand angels to keep you from this horror,” you respond solemnly.

Gabriel’s head slightly turns back to gaze at you as he nods.

“I know.”

You flashback to the many lonely nights you spent crying and mourning over the archangel’s death. None of that seemed to matter now.

One wing takes close to an hour to get somewhere close to normal, and the other, though not as bad, about half the time.

You carefully rest your forehead on the back of Gabriel’s neck, right above where his wings start. His presence and yours intertwine into such a lovesick moment that you find it hard to not tear up.

“I’m here now,” he reassures, moving just slow enough to face you.

You hold back the tears forming in your eyes and give a small smile.

“I should be telling you that.”

Gabriel rolls his eyes playfully, wrapping his arms around your waist. He pulls you tight against your chest, and you know he’s afraid of losing you again, too.

Gone So Soon

A/N: I HAD TOOOOOO

“Thanks for the rescue and all, but I gotta skidaddle,” Gabriel’s lips form into a fine line as he starts for the door.

You watch in anger, brows furrowed with discontempt.

Gabriel, Sam, and Cas hadn’t noticed that you’d entered the bunker just a few moments ago. But you’d rushed there as soon as Sam told you the news.

“Running off so soon?” You called from under the arch of the main doorway.

At the sound of your voice, all three men turned your way.

Gabriel’s eyes grew wide with all kinds of emotions.

You and the archangel had a past. A long and complicated one, but in the end, the two of you had loved each other.

It wasn’t easy moving on. Guess it was a good thing you hadn’t.

“Y/N, I-“

“Well c’mon, let’s get outta here,” you smiled, sending Sam and Cas an apologetic glance.

Gabriel’s wide smirk lit up the whole room. The fluttering of wings announced his presence by your side and you waved a short farewell to the other two.

“Sorry, boys, but we’ve got some catching up to do!”

And with that, you and the archangel disappeared.

(Part 1) (Part 2) (Part 3) (Part 4) (Part 5)

Your training was useless, and not in the bad way. Somehow, you were able to take Sam, Dean, and Castiel down without even a weapon in your hands. No one knew what the reason was behind it. You were sure the boys thought you were still lying until you had Cas tell them you weren’t.

Everything seemed to be going in order to the plan.

The night before the mission, you told Gabriel. He knew what to look for and what to do once he was freed.

The always one-sided conversation soon turned into you telling him about your training. Gabriel shook his head multiple times when you told him you were going along to save him. Then he wore a guilty but proud look as you reminisced on taking down the Winchesters and Castiel.

You figured he might have given you some special ability to fight or something; you had little knowledge on the absolute abilities of archangels, though your supernatural knowledge was more than advanced.

The confrontation had ended with you saying just a few words.

“I’ll see you out of my dreams.”

Then you allowed the white light to send your consciousness to reality.

It was the day. Too much time waiting, feeling useless and weak compared to the hunters, though you no longer felt that was the case.

“Rise and shine!” A voice shouted from outside your door, to which you groaned in response.

It had just begun.

~~~
Everything was organized and laid out perfectly for the four of you. Castiel was to be with you at all times, no matter what.
Sam and Dean had their own separate agenda: distraction. Yours and Castiel’s, however, was the extraction portion. Grab Gabriel and go. No dawdling or anything of the sort; a quick and simple-sounding task.
The table was covered with ingredients for the spell. Across from you was the fiery, red-haired witch they called Rowena. She was a strong enough witch to preform the ritual and open the gates of Hell long enough for you all to grab Gabriel.
“You have everything for the spell here, yes?” Her Scottish accent was sultry and smooth, a wave of relief that soothed your nerves.
“It’s all there, Rowena. Now let’s get this started,” Sam responded bitterly. They didn’t seem to have the best relationship with her.
The witch began pouring the ingredients into a large wooden bowl and chanting.
Castiel leaned close to you as his voice filled your head.
Do you know what’s causing your headaches?
Your eyes widened in fear; no one was supposed to know about those. The headaches came along constantly, and the blacking out was getting more frequent.
No, not yet. Please don’t tell the Winchesters. Not now, at least, you thought back at the angel.
If he were to tell them, your chances of going were slim to none.
Castiel held a look of doubt, but his eyes gave the hint that he was worried.
If it starts to hinder you at all, I will, but your secret is safe for now.
You silently sighed in relief. With Castiel knowing, at least he could help you.
Just as your mindful conversation ended, the last of the items were placed into the bowl. Everything in it burst into a bright purple flame and casted a portal-looking entrance onto the wall.
“There you go. Get in and grab him. I’ll be able to keep it open just long enough as long as you hurry.”
The idea of stepping into a doorway to Hell had just hit you.
A flash of light blinded your sight and the scene around you changed.
It wasn’t like the normal visions. The room was your own room in the bunker. Your body rested on the bed and a large wound covered your abdomen. Werewolf attack, you knew instantly. The pain was dull, but it still distracted you from the sudden presence of a being. You glanced up to meet his golden brown eyes and smiled.
“Y/n, ready to go?”
Dean’s voice brought you back to reality. Time had only passed a mere moment or so, not enough to seem suspicious.
Castiel furrowed his brows as he read your mind.
You shook away the feeling of deja vú that creeped up.
“Of course. Let’s get this show on the road, boys.”
In that instant, you, Castiel, Sam and Dean all shared a similar thought as you stepped through the portal: this had to go well.
In My Dreams (5)
Word Count: 911 words
A/N: I may or may not post on Friday. Been getting a lot of homework lately before break >_>
(Part 1) (Part 2) (Part 3) (Part 4)
You had been working with the Winchesters and Castiel for weeks. They had invited you into their home, even going as far as to give you a place to stay. There was hardly anything left for you in your old life besides a crappy job and a worn-down apartment.
The dreams hadn’t stopped. In fact, they even occurred when you took naps. It was easy to get into contact with Gabriel, but communicating was a different story.
The first night, you told him you had found the Winchesters and Castiel. They were trying to find him.
Gabriel face glimmered with a hint of hope and for once upon seeing him, he smiled.
Despite the extra help, the two of you still tried. Some nights, when Gabriel seemed calmer than normal, he would just want to be around your unconscious presence.
For some reason, you felt the same. Just being in the archangel’s presence in your dreams had calmed you down about the situation. Progress was slow and you were getting more frustrated by each hour that ticked by without a clue to where Gabriel could be. That is, until Castiel hit a breakthrough.
“Y/n, you say Gabriel keeps pointing down, right?”
You nod so quick that you feel lightheaded.
Castiel purses his lips into a firm line and he lets out a deep sigh.
“He’s in Hell. It makes sense; Asmodeus knows what we need to get to the other universe, and one of those ingredients is an archangel’s grace.”
Asmodeus, yes, you’d heard of him from your time in the bunker as well as the portal to the other world. It was too complicated of a task for your brain to comprehend.
“So he’s trapped Gabriel,” you come to the conclusion, running a clammy hand through your hair. The constant research and bussling around had given you headaches on the daily, but it was no time to worry about your own state.
“We’ve been to Hell and back enough times for this to be a piece of cake. Rowena will be able to help. The only issue is…” Dean slowly glances over at you, sitting in the chair and quietly listening to the conversation.
“What about me?”
Dean snorts, “Sweetheart, no offense, but you’ve never hunted in your life.”
He was right. How were you supposed to help take down monsters that most people didn’t know existed?
Then again, you had a feeling in the pit of your stomach, your gut, that felt the urge to join in, to fight. You wanted to be of some help to them.
“Train me,” you simply stated.
The three men looked over at you in slight disbelief.
“What?” Dean questioned incredulously.
You stood up and crossed your arms.
“You heard what I said. Train me. Give me two days, and if I’m not fit enough to go along, then I’ll stay here.”
Time was of the essence to find and rescue Gabriel, but you wanted, no, needed to go.
The Winchesters share their infamous glance that always meant they were deliberating over something important.
Sam nods and Dean just groans.
“Fine, Sam will start training you in an hour.”
~~
“Punch me.”
Sam held his arms up in a fighting stance, waiting for you to follow his demand.
“What? You want me to hit you?”
The Winchester nods.
It was just a punch. You could handle it.
You curled your hand into a fist and took the first opportunity that you saw him falter. He grabbed the knuckles of your hand, twisting your arm to give him an advantage. Something inside you kicked in and you swung around to successfully kick out Sam’s knees. The blow brought him to the ground, giving you enough time to wrap your arms around his head for a chokehold.
The surprised look on both of your faces showed just how shocking your stunt really was.
You let go of Sam, allowing him to straighten himself up.
“You could seriously hussle people with that act. What’d you take, some kind of fighting class?”
You quietly shook your head, suddenly terrified of your own strength. A thirst for pain lingered in your belly.
“I’ve never had any experience in this,” you simply respond, dumbfounded.
“Yea, right-“
“No, Sam, I’m not joking. I’ve never fought anyone in my life before, it just…” you trailed off but suddenly a sharp pain pierced through your skull.
You groaned out and fell to your knees.
Blood. Gore. It was everywhere. You slowly raised a hand into your vision and it held a machete that was covered in crimson-red liquid.
“Y/n, are you okay?” Sam’s voice called, bringing you back from the scene. You’d never experienced that before, but it was your body among the blood.
You grabbed the hand that Sam held out to help you up.
“I-I’m fine. Just a headache or something,” you mumbled.
Sam’s eyes scanned your body for any signs of injury, but everything seemed fine physically.
“You’re positive?” He asks warily.
Again, you nod.
“I’m fine, Sam. Nothing a little pain-killer won’t fix.”
Inside, you weren’t fine, but you couldn’t let the Winchesters know that. If they knew, you wouldn’t be able to go with them to find Gabriel. The image you had witnessed was gruesome and you didn’t know where it was from. It was so realistic and you knew for a fact that that was your hand holding the bloody weapon.
The only thing to do was focus on the mission ahead.
(Part 1) (Part 2)
You hit the road early enough to arrive at the diner around noon.
Your car, a 1972 Jeep, parked right next to what looked like an old Impala. Someone had good taste in vehicles.
Dean had told you what him and his brother looked like, though it didn’t really matter. You could tell who they were as soon as you stepped foot in the diner.
The two men were both in plaid, one had dark brown hair and the other was on the blonder side.
You slowly approached the booth they were in. Being hunters, their guard was up and they immediately noticed you walking toward them.
The longer haired and taller one turned to greet you with a nod as his brother remained stoic in the moment. Hunters never were the type to make friends.
They were in the booth next to each other, allowing you to scoot in the seat across from them.
You stuck your hand out in a welcoming gesture as they both shook it.
“Let’s get straight to the point. I need help from a hunter, and actually, a Winchester to be exact.”
Sam and Dean share a questioning glance.
“What for?” You supposed Sam isn’t the one you talked on the phone with, because he seemed far more friendly than his brother.
Your hand reaches down into the pocket of your jacket and grips tight onto a piece of paper. You pull it out and place it on the table.
It was a picture of the man in your dreams, drawn by you so the Winchesters might be of more help.
You place a finger on the drawing.
“Do you know this man?”
Dean’s eyes widen as he tries to make sense of what he’s seeing.
“Yes, we actually do. His name’s Gabriel, the archangel Gabriel.”
Hole in One
Requested by @wayward-mirage
Requesting fluffy Gabriel x Reader. She wants to do a “human date” and takes him to play putt putt and he uses his grace to win and she gets mad and pouts so he has to make it up to her?
A/N: Sorry if it’s not up to par….
Get it? Par? Golf? Okay, I’ll go… Also, I didn’t proofread this because I’m too tired so lemme know if you see mistakes!
Word Count: 711
Gabriel chuckled obnoxiously and wiped a fake tear from his eye.
“You want to be normal and have a ‘human date’?” His response was snarky but not meant to be harsh in any way. Your hurt look immediately had him apologizing, though, and your wish had been granted.
The putt-putt course, which was your suggestion, loomed over you and Gabriel. It’s pirate theme constituted the over-use of ships and treasure chests on every hole.
“Ten dollars and a candy bar says I’ll win,” you smirked, knowing that, of course, the candy would seal the deal.
Gabriel’s eyes sparkled with a playful tone, his arm slipped around your waist as he leaned his head toward your ear.
“Deal,” he whispered huskily, his breath fanning against the outer shell of your ear as he spoke that single word. The hair on the side of his head brushed against your cheek, creating that slightly ticklish feeling.
You smiled into Gabriel’s neck, reaching down to grab his hand and intertwine it with yours.
“Good luck. You’ll need it,” you chuckled, turning away from him to approach the small mini-golf building. Gabriel followed close behind, almost like a puppy that’s willing to prove how good it is to it’s owner.
A bridge crossed over a river-like body of discolored, green water and transformed into a stone path which lead to the shack.
It wasn’t deathly hot outside, so stepping into a wave of air-conditioned cold that enveloped the building made you shiver.
“One game?” A teenager with a bowl-haircut and a snarky attitude asked, impatiently tapping a pen on the counter. He glanced at the clock on the wall and shifted his gaze back to the two of you.
“Yep,” you simply answered. You weren’t willing to deal with a moody kid at the moment. Gabriel handed the guy money for your game while you picked out a golf club and a ball.
After a few moments, Gabriel came over to you and picked his own out. You ended up with one of the medium sized clubs and a green ball, whereas your boyfriend picked a large club and a golden-yellow ball.
“You ready?” You eyed him competitively, not willing to let him come even close to winning.
Gabriel followed you outside and nodded. “Hells yeah I am.”
You were extremely excited and immediately got ready to putt. The club bent behind your back and snapped forward, nicking its target. Your swing sent the golf ball rolling toward the hole, but not hard enough for it to go in.
Gabriel placed a hand on your shoulder. “Nice shot, sweetheart, but watch this.”
He stepped onto the green and readied his putt. The archangel glanced behind him, shook his butt at you, and took a swing. His bright yellow ball precariously rolled away from the hole, bounced off a brick, and went in.
Your cocky and self-absorbed boyfriend turned to you with a triumphant look.
“We’ve got 17 more holes, bucko. So don’t count your win just yet.”
Three impossible hole in ones in a row, and you were starting to get suspicious.
Before you took your next shot, you spun around to see Gabriel smirking happily about his score.
“Alright, what’s up? There’s no way-“ and then it dawned on you, “Gabriel, I swear to god! I wanted to have a normal, human date and you’re using your powers to win??”
Your face was beet red and even though it seemed like a minuscule thing, you could feel yourself beginning to tear up. The moment Gabriel saw you on the verge of crying, he wrapped his arms around you and held your body tight to his chest. You let your head lean on him as you sniffled.
“I’m so sorry, sweetheart. How about I take you to a carnival and I’ll win you the biggest stuffed animal ever. No powers, I promise.”
Your eyes, puffy and red, looked up at him and you couldn’t help smiling.
“Okay,” you pressed your nose the crook of his neck, mumbling a small, “I love you.”
Though you couldn’t see his face, Gabriel grinned. He still felt bad, but he was going to make it up to you.
“I love you, too. Now let’s win you a stuffed animal.”
Intro: 13 Reasons Why Spinoff
This is a new series idea that I’m excited to write! Each chapter will be a tape which brings me to the point that this is based on 13 Reasons Why only because there will be 13 tapes and 13 reasons. No one commits suicide, and the reasons are entirely different than the book/series. Also, if you haven’t watched/read 13 Reasons Why yet, I highly suggest you do!
Gabriel had died with the dignity and courage of a thousand angels combined. No normal person would have done such a thing. His last breath called your name and his last words always echoed through your brain.
His Casa Erotica CD was a small hint as of what he had made for you. It seemed he held a love for CDs and cassettes now that you thought on it.
You grasped the rough edges of the tape between your fingers, grazing over the number 1 with your thumb. The 1 was written in golden ink and as you flipped the cassete over, you noticed a 2 on the backside.
The tape had been given to you by Cas, and all he told you was, “Listen to them.” After a few questions, he gave in and told you that there were 13 in total. 13 Reasons Why.
As you sit on your bed, mindlessly holding the cassete, you pull Dean’s cassete player, that you’d stolen, from under your sheets.
You popped the case open, plugged your earbuds in, and pressed the play button.
