“Hey, Dean, have you seen Sam lately?”

You look up at Dean from where you’re laying on your cheap motel bed, waiting for a response.

He shakes his head, shrugging.

“Maybe he went to the bar.”

You nod, tossing your phone onto the sheets beside you. “Why don’t we go out, see if he’s there, and have a few drinks?”

To be honest, you definitely could use a couple drinks after the whole trickster fiasco.

Dean glances over at you and reluctantly pulls himself off of the couch.

“Sure, but if Sam’s wasted, I’m not carrying him out to the car.”

You laugh and follow him out the door to where the Impala is parked. Dean unlocks it, opens the driver’s door, and climbs inside.

“Sweet, Sam’s not here,” you smirk , tugging the passenger door open and hopping in.

As soon as you step in, things feel a bit off. “Dean? Y/n?” Sam’s slightly electronic voice calls.

Dean twirls around in his seat, searching for his brother. You do the same, and once neither of you have found him, you both turn toward the front.

“Sam? Where are you?”

Silence ensues until Sam’s voice returns. This time, you and Dean notice the speaker blinking red as he speaks.

“Uh, I don’t think we killed the trickster.”

Ten minutes later, Dean figured out what the “trickster” actually was, and now the three of you were on your way to end this.

To be completely honest, a part of you didn’t want the ‘trickster’ dead. Maybe after years of endless flirting, you’d somehow developed feelings. And that terrified you.

The only thing you could do now was confront the trickster. If Dean’s assumptions were correct, you were in for a hell of a time.

The three of you, well the two of you and Sam/the Impala drove to a wooded area where you could easily summon the trickster.

“Alright you son of a bitch! Uncle! We’ll do it!”

The man you all were looking for immediately appeared out of thin air. He sees the three of you and smirks.

“Wow, Sam, get a load of the rims on you!”

“Eat me,” Sam snaps.

“Alright, ready to go quietly? Or in Y/n’s case, loudly,” he throws you a wink.

Dean gives you a disgusted look and your response is to shake your head.

“Whoa, no one’s doing anything until Sam gets opposable thumbs.”

“What’s the difference? Satan’s gonna ride his ass one way or another”.

Dean glares at the trickster until he snaps his fingers.

Sam opens the car door and steps out, joining you and Dean.

“Tell me, why didn’t the stake kill you?”

He shrugs, “I am the trickster.”

You pull the lighter from your pocket, spark the wick, and toss it to where you’d been told.

“Maybe you aren’t.”

It seemed like forever before the trickster allowed you to join the boys again. Although you weren’t happy to be on the sidelines, you were glad you didn’t have to be in a commercial for genital herpes.

Now, the three of you had your own crappy reality show and anything that wasn’t remotely funny, was funny to the crowd.

“This is ridiculous,” you mutter, still smiling at the live studio audience.

“Tell me about it,” Sam whispered.

It was soon your turn to say a dumb joke, but the door flies open and Cas tumbles in.

The three of you look up and sigh in relief.

“You okay?” Dean, always the worried mother when it came down to it, asks.

The angel’s breathing was heavy and his face was badly bruised and cut.

“I don’t have much time. I got out. Listen, this thing is stronger than it should be.”

Cas hardly finishes his sentence before he flies into the nearest wall and slumps to the ground.

The trickster comes through the front door and smiles at the audience.

“Hello!”

He averts his gaze to Cas, who has since gotten up. The angel’s mouth is covered in duct tape and he glares at the trickster.

“Hey, Castiel!”

With a flick of his hand, Cas disappears into thin air.

“Where’d you just send him?”

“Relax. He’ll live. Maybe.”

Dean curls his hands into fists and narrows his eyes.

“We’re done with the monkey dance. We get it.”

“Yea? Get what, hot-shot?”

“Playing our roles, right. That’s the game?”

“That’s half the game.”

“What’s the other half?”

Play your roles out there. Y’know, Sam starring as Lucifer, Dean starring as Michael. Your celebrity death-match!

“What’s my role then,” you speak up, raising an eyebrow and waiting for an explanation.

The trickster’s face lights up.

“Yours will come in due time.”

“You want us to say yes?”

“Hells yeah. Let’s light this candle!”

“We do that, the world will end,” Sam explains.

“Yea? And whose fault is that? Look, you started it. It can’t be stopped. So let’s get it over with!”

There’s a pause before Dean says something.

“Heaven or Hell? Which side you on?”

The trickster snorts, “I’m not on either side.”

“Yea right. Michael or Lucifer, which one is it?”

“You listen to me, you arrogant dick, I don’t work for either of those s-o- b’s, believe me.”

“Oh, you’re somebody’s bitch.”

Dean is thrown against the wall as the trickster holds onto the lapels of his jacket.

“Don’t you ever, ever, presume to know what I am,” the trickster hisses.

“Now, you’re gonna suck it up, accept your roles, and play the parts that destiny has chosen for you.”

“And if we don’t?” Sam joins in, causing the trickster to look at him.

“Then you’ll be stuck here, in Tv land. Forever. 300 channels, and nothin’s on.”
