Uncle Gabe and Aunt Y/n: The Amusement Park
A/N: Because the writers missed out on a huge chance for some Uncle Gabriel bonding moments 😭
———————
Knock. Knock.
You groan. It’s too early for the Winchesters to be needing you. The form of a body next to you shifts, wrapping an arm around your torso.
Gabriel sighs into the crook of your neck, muttering a quiet “Make them go away”.
Normally, you’d agree and tell the boys to shoo but normally they would never wake you up unless it was something important.
You reluctantly roll out from under your archangel’s grasp and off the bed.
“What do you want?” Is all you say in the early morning tone that sounds like you‘re angry.
Whoever it is doesn’t open the door, probably from bad past experiences with you and Gabriel in some compromising positions.
“We’ve got a hunt and we need you two to look after Jack for a few days,” the Winchester, presumably Sam from the sounds of it, explains.
Lately, you and Gabriel would accompany the Winchesters while Cas stayed behind. This time, it’d be nice to sit one out and at the same time get Cas back into the swing of things.
“Alright, we’ll be out in a bit.”
You glance over at Gabriel, who’s still occupying the same space on the bed. With a roll of your eyes, you quickly get dressed into a comfortable tee and a pair of sweats.
At this point, Gabriel still has not moved.
“Get up, Gabe, it’s our time to watch the child,” you .
Gabriel huffs under the covers but slowly removes the sheets from his face.
“Which one?”
The small, playful smirk plastered on his mouth has you smiling.
“Haha. Listen, it could be a lot worse. We can handle babysitting your nephew for a couple days.”
The archangel casually takes his time getting up and out of the bed, long enough for you to leave in search for the nephew in question.
“Jack? You around?” You call out, heading toward the library where he usually is.
He loved reading lore and learning more about the world.
“Hi, Aunt Y/n!”
You jump, startled at the nephilim’s sudden appearance.
“Gosh, don’t scare me like that. And what did I say about calling me Aunt Y/n? Gabriel and I aren’t married.”
A loud woosh can be heard behind you. You quickly recognize the all too familiar sound of a specific archangel’s wings.
“Oh, leave the boy alone. We’re practically married, anyways,” your boyfriend chuckles, embracing you from behind. He leans his head onto your shoulder to peer at Jack.
“Whatcha wanna do, kid?” Gabriel then moves his gaze to you, “As the cool aunt and uncle, we have to step up our game.”
You smile, silently agreeing with him.
Jack purses his lips together and furrows his brows in concentration.
“I’ve heard about roller coasters on television. Could we go on one?”
You have to hold back an ‘Aw’ at the nephilim’s naive nature.
Gabriel releases you from his arms, smirking at his nephew.
“Why just one?”
–
You scream in excitement as the cars reach the top of the hill and shoot straight down the track.
Gabriel had whisked the three of you to an amusement park full of rides, food, and thrills.
Currently, you’re on your sixth coaster of the day. You’re on the left side, Gabriel in the middle, and Jack on the far right.
The cars suddenly come to a breaking halt, then slowly start inching forward to the exit.
“That was great!” You hear the nephilim announce as the ride stops completely.
You and Gabriel both smile and unlock your seatbelts. Seeing Jack unwind makes your heart swell.
You glance over at your ‘nephew’ and you see him struggling with the lock on the restraints. He still hasn’t gotten used to the belts, so Gabriel has to help him out.
It really is like babysitting a child. Technically, he was only a few months old.
You wobble slightly, trying to regain your balance as the three of you head for the exit.
“We really are the best aunt and uncle,” you laugh.
Gabriel grins happily. You calling yourself Jack’s aunt has the archangel falling in love with you all over again.
You and the celestial beings finally exit the area, finding a place to sit. It had been a lot of walking throughout the day. The sun started to set about half an hour ago and the park would soon be closing.
“Thank you both for today. I enjoyed doing things normal people would do,” Jack says, gazing over at you and Gabe with pure, innocent joy.
Gabriel places his arm around your waist as you simultaneously lean into his side. He uses his other hand to ruffle the hair on his nephew’s head.
“No problem, kiddo. Just remember to tell Cassie how much fun you had with us.”
You slap Gabriel’s chest, “Stop that. Tell him you enjoyed spending time with him.”
Your boyfriend sighs, knowing he’s been defeated. His heart was in the right place, he just had a hard time expressing it.
“I’m glad we could spend some time together, Jack. In this world, family’s all we’ve got.” As Gabriel finishes, he squeezes your side and glances up at the sky.
In that instant, loud booms come from across the park. The sky lights up with the most fantastic display of fireworks you’ve ever seen.
Jack gazes up in complete awe of the spectacle.
“I love you guys. Thank you,” he gasps as another firework fizzles out.
You and Gabriel hold each other tighter as you respond for the archangel and yourself.
