I FINALLY FOUND OUT WHY THIS HAPPENS. You see this all the time when there’s a fight or a scrum and suddenly everyone pairs up with a member of the opposite team and they just sort of …hold each other.
Someone on reddit asked about it. And it turns out there’s a logical-ish reason:
all of the other players pair off with their man to prevent anyone else entering into the fight … so it’s a form of self policing.
[…] The players basically want to prevent 2 on 1, etc. fights and by finding a “hugging” partner so there’s no ganging up on one guy, even on accident. They do it because it’s fair. And it’s kind of cute sometimes.
I cherish the idea of an overprotecting Gabriel towards his siblings, especially Castiel.
I like to think Gabriel is the kind to worry so much about his family behind his casual and disinterested-like behavior, that he actually fled from Heaven because he couldn’t stand seeing his brethren tear each other apart. ಥ_ಥ
So, as I absolutely adore Cas and Gabriel and felt they had some sort of a strong brotherhood, here is the first part of small drawings representing them throughout Castiel’s growth. ・:*:・◝(˙꒳˙)◜・:*:・
HE’S PLAYING UNDER GABRIEL’S WINGS. I AM FUCKING DONE.
The guy got his life and career destroyed by his divorce, cut him some slack.
he was also sexually assaulted by a man who could destroy his career
protect him
reblog if the man on the right is just as beautiful as the man on the left
people grow old? like, that’s a thing that happens? leave my guy alone.
This man deserves everything let him he happy
Ok… This is what happened to Fraser
-His wife ditched him and asked for 900k a year,
-He was sexually assaulted which he said kicked him into a deep depression
-He stated that the stunts from the 3rd Mummy movie completely destroyed his body and he was in and out of the hospital for 7 years even having to get surgery to repair his vocal cords.
-He apparently blamed himself for all this which only worsened his depression.
This man has literally been through hell this past decade so please lets cut him some slack and wish him the best
Well now I feel shitty for saying he “aged like milk”

“Gabriel, get out! Now!”
Only a few days ago you were your fine, loving self. And then one case happened and now you’ve got a thirst for blood. It seemed like an average witch hunt at the time. But thinking about it now, how could Gabriel be so stupid?
Upon entering the building the witch was suspected to be in, a large wave of energy hit both you and the archangel. You were tossed against the door, slumping to the ground as your body made contact with the hard surface.
You: I have no heart. Love is for fools. I don’t need no man in my li-
Bucky, walking into the room: oh hey y/n
You: well, fuck.
me w/ all the marvel men
So true. Me too.

Gabriel, on the other hand, was not affected. He found the witch just across the room, with a ball of raw energy in her hands. She wore a devilish grin which faltered as she saw Gabriel unaffected.
With a snap of the archangel’s fingers, the witch disappeared into a cloud of dust. There was no time for questions.
Gabriel quickly rushed to your unconscious side, picked you up and teleported back to the safety of the bunker. You woke up not long after, seemingly unaffected by whatever the witch had done.
That was only days before now.
The blood-red veins in your eyes took hold of the pupils and dragged them into a violent darkness. Your focus is on him alone.
“Gabriel!”
The archangel’s daydream quickly comes to an end as you lunge at him. Gabriel reflexively tries dodging your attack, but his instincts aren’t that sharp. You end up surprisingly knocking the archangel to the ground.
Sam and Dean both have to physically grab you and pull you off of him in order for the archangel to get up.
“Take her downstairs,” Castiel urges, allowing the Winchesters to take you away before turning to his brother.
“What color was the spell that hit you both?”
Gabriel thinks back. It’s almost hard to remember, considering his soulmate has suddenly decided she wants him dead.
“It was red,” he recalls, widening his eyes at his brother in realization.
“Gabriel, that magic has been forbidden for centuries. That’s soulmate magic.”
The archangel nods. He’s very aware of the old magic.
Back when soulmate’s were more common occurrences, someone created a type of magic that used the power of their soulmate bond to wreak havoc. The most used spell was, in summary, a way to split apart soulmates. It caused soulmates to go for each other’s throats until one died. Then the spell would lift and the person alive would have to live with the thought that they killed their mate.
The spell had never been used against angels, as it was made before Heaven started to interfere with humans.
That being said, Gabriel is not affected by the curse, but you are.
“Cas, I killed the witch. She’s dead,” he says, letting out a frustrated groan.
Castiel squints and clenches his teeth.
“I don’t know anything about curing that form of magic. It was created by humans, and as angels, we never experienced it firsthand.”
Again, the archangel nods. He feels so numb and helpless. Normally, everything was at the tips of his fingers, always in his grasp. But this is uncharted territory for once, and he doesn’t know how to solve it.
“There might be something in the library,” Cas offers, as if knowing the defeated look in Gabriel’s eyes.
He needs to help you.
–
“Gabriel, you cannot see her, under ANY circumstances. Do you hear me?” Dean instructs, flipping another page in his fifth lore book.
Of course, Gabriel hears him, but the words don’t register in his mind.
“Yeah, uh huh,” he mutters, staring down at the book on the table. He’d hardly read any of it. You were always there to make him focus during research, though you were usually the one doing most of it.
“Gabriel, we’re serious,” Sam yawns, rubbing his eyes.
“I’m going to go get some food real quick,” Gabriel announces, disappearing in an instant despite the boys shouts of protest.
His presence can be felt, you could always tell when he was around.
“Face me like a real archangel,” you tug violently at the chains constraining your hands, “Let me go so I can rip your throat out!”
Gabriel slowly steps into your full vision, getting a view of your broken state. On the inside, you seem just as broken without him as he is without you.
On the outside, as soon as your eyes make contact with his, you go berserk. Screaming, struggling, whatever you can do to try and get at him.
Gabriel is frozen in place. He doesn’t know what to do. The sudden pull of his jacket has him coming to his senses and turning around.
“Go back upstairs,” Dean hisses, pushing the archangel toward the exit.
Gabriel hears Dean trying to calm you down as he closes the door behind him. That’s supposed to be his job. He internally scolds himself for going down there to begin with but he had to see you.
Get yourself together, Gabriel, he thinks, you can survive not seeing her long enough to find the cure.
Days pass with small glimpses of hope here and there but nothing significant in the end. Piles of skimmed through books lay scattered on one half of the library.
Sam and Dean gave you food and would let you upstairs as long as Gabriel was nowhere to be seen.
It is incredibly difficult for Gabriel not to see you. You’re his rock, his everything. He’d rather endure your physical attempts at torture than this.
“Hey, I think I found something,” Dean says, quickly skimming over a small section of the book.
“We’ve said that how many times already?” Gabriel groans, staring intently at a sentence he’s been trying to comprehend for the past five minutes.
“No, this looks right. It says, ‘In order to reverse the spells effects, the spell caster’s soulmate must be killed.’“
For once, the hope that kept being torn down is alive.
“How do we find the witch’s soulmate?” Sam inquires, dropping his book on the table with a thud.
Castiel glances at Gabriel and then back at the Winchesters.
“I believe that since the spell uses the soulmate’s bond and it is still inhabiting Y/n, we can use some of her blood for a tracking spell. If all goes right, it should work.”
Gabriel agrees silently, watching as Sam goes downstairs to somehow convince you that he needs a few drops of your blood. The overwhelming guilt of the situation suddenly hits the archangel. His job as your soulmate has always been to protect you and this time he hadn’t.
Gabriel feels a gentle hand on his shoulder.
“You are projecting because of your grief, brother. What happened to Y/n is not your fault,” Castiel gazes down at his hurting sibling with so much pity that it almost deters Gabriel away.
“I won’t stop until she’s back to normal, Cas,” Gabriel mutters, running his hands sloppily through his disheveled hair.
Castiel nods solemnly, “I expect nothing less of you, Gabriel.”
Sam appears through the doorway, trotting over with a small vial of blood. He places it down on the table next to a bowl Gabriel had conjured up and the rest of the ingredients needed. A detailed map is flattened out directly next to everything.
Castiel begins the spell, tossing in the correct amounts of each ingredient before finally adding in your blood and muttering some words in Latin.
The liquid mixture begins trailing over the edge of the bowl and onto the map. It’s red color looks eerily similar to blood, reminding Gabriel of how you had to be hurt in order for this to work.
The spell stops on top of a small town a few hours north of the bunker. The rest of it would work once the four of them got within a certain distance of the soulmate.
“Let’s go, we’ve got no time to lose,” Gabriel calls, snapping his fingers impatiently and teleporting the four of them in the middle of the town.
Castiel closes his eyes, feeling for the spell to pull him toward their target. He opens his eyes mere seconds later and starts running in the direction of an old farmhouse.
Gabriel knows what he’s doing. He doesn’t need the Mystery gang as backup. Without a second of hesitation, he transports himself into the house.
“Babe, are you-”
A man comes into view in the living room, eyes widening at the sight of Gabriel. He has no time to plead for his life because before the thought can even enter his head, Gabriel has turned him into the same dust that his soulmate was turned into.
The front door bursts open, and as the three men enter, Castiel can feel the spell disintegrating. Gabriel had done it but he is nowhere to be found.
–
“Y/N,” Gabriel quietly tests the waters, praying to his absent father that the cure had worked.
You blink up at him groggily, smiling.
“What’s up, Goldilocks? What happened?” You glance down at the shackles on your arms and feet, “Damn, did we get into some kinky stuff again?”
Gabriel lets out a breathy laugh, rushing to get the restraints off of you and pull you up into a breathtaking hug.
