I needed someone like Gabe to help me today, and writing this helped a lot.
“Hey! Wait, are you crying?”
Gabriel rushes to your side immediately and holds your face in his hands. He brushes a few stray tears away with his thumbs. “Sweetheart, what’s wrong?”
You quickly shake your head, sniffling. “It’s nothing.”
Gabe gently tuts, lifting your chin up to meet his eyes. “Sugar, you’re crying. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that something’s wrong.”
Once again, you push away his attempts to help you.
“It’s dumb. All you need to know is that I’m worthless.”
Gabriel’s movements suddenly stop, and your body continues to rack with sobs.
“Who said you were worthless?”
You can barely hear his words, so he repeats them, slightly louder, “Who said you were worthless?”
You don’t say anything.
The archangel in front of you places his hands on your waist and looks into your puffy, red eyes. “You’re not worthless. You’re nowhere near that. I love you, so much, and I know for a fact that you’re beautiful, funny, and amazing at everything you do. I don’t want you to ever think of yourself like that again, alright?”
Gabriel pulls you closer as you nod, wrapping your shaking arms around his shoulders.
Hey past me, I promise you everything turns out okay. You’re happy now and that’s all you could ask for.
Seriously, props to everyone in the Supernatural Gabriel fandom. Even though he’s canonically dead “yea sure” we all still put out fics about him. That’s dedication.
When reaching the prince’s chambers with Gaius, a skinny boy around my age appears with a rag and a broom. “Oh thank god, you can take over for me.” He sighs and abruptly hands me the cleaning supplies. “Oh I’m Merlin by the way. You must be Amity,” He smiles.
I smile, yet taken aback by his forwardness. He seems funny. I think I’ll like him. “Yes, it’s nice to meet you Merlin,” I give him a goofy smile, “I guess I’ll get on with this then.” I raise my eyebrows quickly towards Gaius and nod my head. I walk into the Prince’s room and hear Gaius whisper something to Merlin.
“Merlin! Behave yourself. She’s an old friend of mine and I’d like for you to be a bit nicer.” I hear and giggle. Gaius is super protective and just like a father.
I look up and around and the nice bedroom. Of course it’s nice, he’s a prince. But still, it’s not at all what I am used to. As I search the room, I notice that Merlin hadn’t cleaned a single thing before I had gotten there. Sounds about right.
I grab the broom and get to work with sweeping the dust and dirt off the floor and into a pan. After finishing this, I wipe down all of the cabinets and decorations. Just as I am about to grab the sheets off the bed, I hear the door creak. It’s Arthur.
“I’m almost finished, Sire.” I say, not looking him in the eye. But I hear the floor boards squeak as he gets closer.
“I don’t think I properly introduced myself. I’m Arthur.” He puts his hand on my shoulder. My body tenses and I drop the basket I am holding.
“Oh I’m sorry, I’ll take care of this.” He leans down and grabs the sheets and stuffs them back in the basket.
“Thank you,” I say as I quickly grab the basket and other cleaning supplies and rush out of the room and down the hall. I turn around for a second and see him peek out the door with one eyebrow cocked.
I return to a broom closet and toss the supplies in, then place the sheets in the wash room. I need to help out Gaius, so I go back to his home. I guess it’s my home now too.
Once I open the door to the house, Merlin is crouching over a bag, hiding some kind of book.
“Oh heyyyy Amity!” He shoves the book behind him, “how’s your day going?” He put a big grin on his face.
“Uh hey Merlin. Where’s Gaius?” I dismiss his weird actions.
“Oh right he wanted me to tell you he was off getting something for Uther. Not that this was my decision but also said you get my bed.” He sighs and stares past me.
“Oh no I’m sorry. We can share if you want.” I laugh and walk past him into his bedroom. He walks in after me and lays on the bed. The room is very basic from what I see. He has a lot of junk around, which is funny to me.
“So, how do you feel about Arthur?” He smirks.
“I haven’t really talked to him. I saw him as I left his room but it was just awkward.” I admit and shrug my shoulders.
“Oh, he’s going to try to get to know you more. With a pretty face like that he’s probably already infatuated.” Merlin says with an eyebrow raised and a serious look. I blush and stare at the ground.
“Thanks… let’s never talk about that again.” I say scratching my chin.
“Alright, let’s talk about who gets what side of the bed.” He winks and rolls off the bed.
So um Lucifer’s vessel wasn’t killed because as Sam said, “The archangel blade is meant to kill the archangel only.” That means Gabriel’s vessel is alive… Just saying…
